Who we are
PinExplore is a Pinterest research and analytics tool for bloggers. Customers subscribe to a plan; each customer gets one personal account, created by us after payment. Our own team also uses PinExplore to plan content for our food blogs.
Data we store about users
- Name, email address and a securely hashed password for each user.
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in (strictly necessary; no advertising or tracking cookies).
- For each sign-in: the date, IP address and browser/device, so an account can only be open on one device at a time and we can spot shared or stolen accounts.
- What users save in the app (searches, lists, notes, tracked accounts and keywords), kept per customer.
- Payments are handled by our payment provider (for example Lemon Squeezy, Paddle or PayPal), which processes your card or payment details: we never see or store them. We only keep what we need to manage your plan (name, email, plan, dates).
Data from Pinterest
When a user connects a Pinterest account to PinExplore through Pinterest's official authorization:
- We receive an access token for that account and only use it for the permissions the account owner approved: reading the account's profile, boards, pins and their analytics, keyword and trend data from Pinterest's advertising tools, and publishing pins only when the user explicitly asks to.
- We never receive or store Pinterest passwords.
- The account owner can revoke access at any time from their Pinterest settings (Security and logins → Apps), or ask us to disconnect and delete the stored token.
We also analyze public Pinterest content (pins, boards, public profiles, trends) to research topics and keywords.
How we use data
Only to provide the service: research, analytics and, when requested, publishing to the user's own accounts; and to manage subscriptions, support and account security. We do not sell or rent any data, we only share it with the providers we need to run the service (hosting, payments, email), and we do not use it for advertising.
Where data is stored and how it is protected
Data is stored on our own server (hosted by Hostinger in the United States). Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), access requires a personal account, passwords are hashed and access tokens are kept on the server only.
Retention and deletion
We keep a customer's data while their account is active. Research history is automatically limited in time and sign-in records are kept for a few months. Any user can ask us to delete their account and data or to disconnect their Pinterest account, and we will do so promptly; data of closed accounts is deleted. Users in the European Union can also ask for a copy of their data or its correction.
